All PTNW Kinesio®Taping Courses are approved by the Kinesio®Taping Association.
 

KT 1 and 2 Course description:

This course is designed to teach the fundamentals of Kinesio® Taping for the entire body as outlined by the Kinesio® Taping Association.  Kinesio® Taping techniques are used to re-educate the neuromuscular system, reduce pain, prevent injury, and promote lymphatic flow and healing.  Participants will learn the core concepts of the Kinesio® Taping method and will practice the techniques through multiple, intense lab sessions. 

 

KT 1 and 2 Goals and Objectives:

·         Learn all fundamental information regarding Kinesio® Taping methods developed by Dr. Kenzo Kase

 

·         Begin development of advanced Kinesio® Taping  techniques

 

·         Understand use of  KTA reference data base Understand and demonstrate appropriate Kinesio Tape strategies for the Upper and Lower Extremities

 

·         Understand and demonstrate Kinesio® Taping strategies for the muscles of the superficial, middle, and deep layers

 

·         Understand the theories behind using Kinesio® Taping to improve lymphatic flow and healing

Masahiro Takakura, ND, LAc, DC, CKTI

Dr. Takakura (known to us as Dr. Masa) earned a BS (2000) in natural sciences, ND (2002), and MSAOM (2003) all from Bastyr University.  He practiced in Bellevue, Washington before moving to Illinois in 2004.  He attended the Chiropractic program at National University of Health Science while maintaining a private practice at The Brannick Clinic of Natural Medicine at Riverside, Illinois.  In 2005, he moved to Colorado and practiced at Fountain Creek Wellness Center in Manitou Springs, Colorado. He returned to the Pacific Northwest in 2006 where he is currently a Core faculty member of the physical medicine department at Bastyr University, clinical supervision at Myofascial Analysis; Naturopathic Manipulation 1; Hydrotherapy/Physiotherapy lab; CranioSacral Therapy; and Clinical Rotations.  Dr. Takakura has a special interest in physical medicine and pain management.  He is an outstanding speaker, we are lucky to have him present!
