This course is appropriate for pediatric therapists of all levels of experience.

Goals and Objectives
  • Understand identity development milestones that children progress through and the developing attitudes about themselves and others that accompany these stages.
  •  Explore possible avenues for developing culturally sensitive working relationships with child/patients’ families or caregivers to maximize therapeutic treatment plans and allow for smooth transition upon planned discharge or reduction in services.
  • Explore creative and practical options to use when responding to typical comments and questions that children pose about human differences.
  • Understand how to use “Persona Dolls” to develop culturally relevant relationships with the child receiving therapy using storytelling techniques.
